Credit Recovery is helpful for students who have failed a course and need to get back on their educational track. Credit Recovery is a great solution because it allows students to keep their class schedule. It also saves time because students don’t have to wait for the following school year to retake the course.
Format & Course Length:
Courses are online and must be completed within a 16-week period.
Courses offered:
- Consumer Math
- English I
- Biology
- American Government
- Earth Science
- Algebra I
Cost and Payment (non-refundable):
- $400 for full credit (two semesters)
- $250 for half credit (one semester)
- $30 Technology fee
- $65 Deadline extension fee (If approved by advisor)
- Payment in full must be made online at the time of enrollment.
Steps to Enroll in Credit Recovery
Step 1: New Student Application
If you have never attended Griggs, please be sure to fill out the new student application below to receive your Griggs Student ID number. Returning students can skip to step 2.
Step 2: Credit Recovery Enrollment Form
Signatures must be obtained before the enrollment can be processed. These signatures verify the student’s failure of selected courses.
Step 3: Making Your Payment
Payments can be made online once the enrollment form has been submitted.
Note: For Third-Party Billings/Subsidy, refer to our Payment Options page. Please use the form provided on the page to send to your employer to request subsidy. Your employer should then email this form back to us to proceed with the enrollment. Please note that approval often takes times so plan accordingly to contact your employer as soon as possible.
Step 4: Enrollment Confirmation
You will receive email with password and log in information 48 hours after you receive your enrollment confirmation email. Please follow the directions in the email to properly set up your Griggs Online account. You will need to complete your work within 16 weeks!
Step 5: Textbooks
Textbooks can be purchased through our online bookstore or through other sources such as Amazon. If purchased through a different source, be sure to match the ISBN.
Record Keeping:
Credit Recovery courses are assigned a percentage grade. As schools have different policies regarding the recording of recovery course grades, please refer to your school’s policy.
Deadline Extension:
Students should complete the recovery course within the allotted time. However, a 6-week extension can be requested to the academic advisor BEFORE the deadline. If the extension request is approved, the student must also pay $65 deadline extension fee.
